It was a trip to Soho for us to meet Sarah and Matthew for their engagement shoot and to discuss their forthcoming wedding. For those who know Soho it was the perfect place to meet this colourful (see Sarah's beautiful tattoos) and vibrant couple.
Soho is an area that people often associate with the sex and sleaze of earlier years, but it has over the years become an area of Juice bars, traditional pubs and cool coffee houses. It was a place where Sarah and Matthew first met so it was a obvious choice to meet up.
Sarah originally from Canada is a professional writer, lover of tattoo art and a major foodie with her own blog at www.thelaughingmedusa.com We had already agreed that Sarah and Carmen were banned from talking food for fear of spending all day discussing organic produce, juicers and blenders. After talking through the wedding itinerary we were led by Sarah and Matthew as they meandered around the London streets.
We both love London and as photographers it is a land of unlimited photo opportunities. Engagement shoots for us are all about making a connection with our couples and seeing how they feel in front of the camera. It is also there as a means to see what works in a informal fun & playful way. Sarah is a natural in front of the camera and just shines. Matthew like the majority of guys needed a little encouragement but like Sarah was up for having some fun and soon relaxed as the day went on. Matthew clearly adores his fiancee and had no trouble in showing this ;-).
Final stop was the British museum an amazing space filled with beautiful light, and a complete contrast to the start of our journey in Soho.
